At least 16 shootings on metro Atlanta roads this year have killed 5 and injured others.
Bridgett Ohiembor heard the boom and knew immediately she had been hit. I just felt this pain in my leg, Ohiembor told the AJC, “my leg was on fire.”
Most recently, a man was critically injured after being shot multiple times and crashing his car on U.S.78 according to DeKalb County, police. Shortly before 5:00 pm on Tuesday near North Druid Hills Road, police responded to a call about a wreck but arrived to find a man inside the wrecked car with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators do not believe the incident was a result of road rage.
Most of the shootings have happened near downtown Atlanta.
