Toni Abasi Hill

In Memory of Malcolm Omari Hill

Malcolm Omari Hill was born March 30, 1987 as the younger son of Toni Abasi Hill and Eva Asha Hill. He grew up in the Pan African Orthodox Christian Church. In 2009, Omari joined AmeriCorps as a math tutor and expanded his involvement to coaching basketball and football. On October 16, 2010, Omari was killed in a car accident. He is survived by his parents; brother, Rashad.

After the tragic loss of their 23-year-old son, Abasi and his wife Asha became aware just how many teenagers and young adults are lost to car accidents. In response to this, they started the Malcolm Omari Hill Scholarship Fund, Inc. This fund provides free Safe Driving classes to teens. By educating young drivers on how to reduce and avoid risks, the Hill family aims to spare others the same heartbreaking loss.
